Dami nagsasabi ang ganda raw ng katawan ni Kidlat kasi siksik at ma-muscle. Bukod sa regular walks, dahil na rin sa mga ganitong exercises. Hehe! I'm trying to train him to be more aware of the use of his back legs and to strengthen them para easier for him to execute heelwork tricks and iwas injuries na rin. :)

Progress Report: After just a few sessions of desensitizing Kidlat to being touched inside his mouth, I am now able to brush his teeth for short periods! Yay!

PS: Lol yung nag-totoothbrush sya while eating treats 😂😂😂 pero now dentastix na yung pinapakain ko kapag nagpapa-toothbrush sya 😂

Sharing how I teach Kidlat to be comfortable in being touched and groomed. This session lasted 19 minutes, but I edited the video so that it doesn't take too long to watch. The key is to ask our dog's permission and listen to them every step of the way. Giving them the freedom and the choice to decide where to be touched and when to stop encourages them to work with instead of against us.

Backstory: Before working on this, Kidlat was super hyper and couldn't stay still. Ayaw nya rin ng hinahawakan ang paws nya, and he used to play bite when being touched. Doing this exercise consistently (after walk) helped him learn to be more relaxed.

You may find the video boring to watch, but I think that's the goal of setting our dogs up for success because grooming shouldn't be a stressful situation for both the dog and the owner.

Result of consistently teaching him that the only way to get what he wants is if he waits and stays calm. :)

PS: We thought we won't be able to bring Kidlat to restos/bars because he's very makulit and hyper, but training does really work.

Henlo klasmeyts! May kwento ako tenyo! Ayam nyo ba nagpunta ako cha retowt nung weekend at chobya chaya! Di aku hiyig mag-chwimming, nitubukan ko yang, kaya nagtakbo takbo at yaro na lang ako cha damuhan! Nipichuran din ako ng dami nina mommie.

Dami ku naaamoy doon tsaka andami puds. Kachama ko pa yoya, yoyo, tito/tita, at pinchan ko. All day ako nagyayayo cha yabas kaya napagod aku ng chubra peyo okay yang kachi enjoy naman!

Hiyig din ba kayo mag-chwimming?
