The common misconception is that dogs naturally ‘have’ to chase cats. Socializing your dog early on with smaller animals will address prey drive in most dogs.

Dogs are social and direct, using body language like wagging tails, while cats are more solitary and subtle, relying on hisses or stares. These are things are are easily misunderstood.

Though we don’t expect cats and dogs to be besties for life, we can do our part in guiding our dog towards a calm behavior when around cats.

Pacho graduated Basic Obedience! While certainly having traits like you would expect from a husky, Pacho has done a great job in becoming a calm and well mannered dog that has been a breeze to handle. Great job!!

I am very sad to announce that Friday has crossed the rainbow bridge. After helping dozens of dogs in my sessions in Highstreet become more calm and relaxed around cats, in May we decided to take him into our home after we noticed he got sick. After a vet visit and medicine he consistently got better. Sadly two days ago in the span of 24hrs he went from being his normal cuddly self to barely being able to walk. We rushed him to the vet where he underwent multiple checkups and was put on an IV. Due to his life as a streetcat his immune system was already severely compromised and any sickness he would get would also have a much heavier impact. He stayed at the Vet overnight but sadly his situation did not improve. After knowing he was also in pain we made the difficult decision to put him down. His chances were very slim and we did not want him to end his life suffering. He passed away in my arms and now has a safe spot in our training center where he can rest in peace. Thank you Friday for your patience with the dogs and your endless love and cuddles. We will always remember you ♥️
