Lately, weโve been seeing a lot of posts online from different groups concerning the skin infections of their furry ones, and how these parents are affected also from it.
We donโt know why there has been an infestation to a lot of cats in different cities/places, regardless if they are indoor cat, how healthy they are or how clean your house is. A lot of parents are experiencing this right now with their little ones and it is UNBEARABLE for them too..
We were so worried when some of our little ones got affected tooโin a way we never experienced before, WE TRIED EVERYTHING but we nothing was workingโฆ UNTIL we saw this post and a video youtube on how to cure it. And now our [email protected] are recovering!

So we wanted to share with you how we were able to cure our little ones. Itโll take a lot of patience and understanding, but this is for them to be able to live longer as having this could severely stress them out and could lead to other sickness.

- Lime Sulfur Dip (VERY IMPORTANT)
- 2 pieces of Suyod for pets
- Long Gloves (soft and heavy duty)
- Toothbrush (medium bristle)
- Water Pail
- Madre De Cacao Liquid Shampoo
- Anti Fungal Bar Soap
- Sponge
- Batcha (if my spelling is correct ๐

- Towel

1) Wear long soft gloves. Feel free to cut it short if it is too long for your arm. Make sure it covers the arm and avoid getting exposed with the dry skin falling off from them while taking a bath. Any dry skin touching your skin must be washed off immediately to avoid rashes. Note also that all the dirt we see in their body is due to the ringworm infection.
You can put hair tie/rubber band on your wrist to avoid the gloves from falling off.
2) Put your little one in a batcha with a running warm water until he feels relaxed
3) 1st round of putting soap in the body. Scrub the body to wash off the dirt in their fur and skin. Rinse and remove the water from the batcha.
4) 2nd round of putting soap part by part (use anti fungal soap bar). Make sure the batcha is filled enough with warm/hot water to make them feel relaxed and avoid shivering. Goal is to make their dry skin soften.
Put the soap on a certain part (ex: face or ears first). Gently scrape off the dry skin with the use of suyod. Please be careful as the suyod can be sharp. Scrape it off gently with a movement like you are coloring a paper. Bleeding is inevitable whenever you scrape off the dry skin but it is a must as this is what causes infection to them. You can comb their body to remove the dry skin and donโt be scared to pull off any fur that is infected.
Having 2 suyod/comb would help you to remove the fur stuck on the comb. We figured the easiest way to remove the stuck fur sa comb is by scraping it off using another suyod.
๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ค๐ฌ ๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐๐ก ๐๐จ๐๐ฒ ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ญ (๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ฌ๐จ๐๐ฉ):
- FACE/HEAD : you can use tooth brush to remove dirt on face
- CHIN : scrape off using toothbrush + suyod
- EARS: both outer and inner area would have a dry skin, please scrape off both sides. Please donโt forget the lower part area of the ears near the cheek area.
- NECK, BACK, TUMMY: use suyod to remove dry skin and loose fur
- PAWS: put bar soap on each paw then brush it hard to remove dirt. Brush it longer, rinse off dirt. Put soap again then try scraping off or pulling off the infected fur. Once pulled off the infected fur, brush again the paw.
- BUTT AREA or HIND LEGS: pull off the infected fur and scrape off the dry skin
- โ๏ธTAIL: MOST SENSITIVE area of a cat. They feel more pain on their tail. Super gently scrape off the dry skin. This would take a lot of patience as you have to give them a short break to make them feel relaxed also as he would feel stressed out.
Rinse.
5) 3rd and Last round of soap wash. Just a quick last wash of Madre De Cacao liquid soap.
6) Use the Heavy Duty gloves. Put the concentrated Lime Sulfur with an amount equivalent to a 3/4 of a shot glass to the water pail. ๐ชฃ Put a 1/4 warm water. You may adjust depending on the size of your water pail.
(Warning: this would smell like a rotten egg so please have enough ventilation. Youโll get used to it after some time)
7) Put them in the water pail. Let him stay there for 2-3 minutes. While he sits inside the pail, use the sponge and toothbrush to put some sulfur water to other body parts that is not reached by the water (like head, ears, back).
Make sure he is soaked well and all infected areas get enough sulfur water.
Wipe off the sulfur water you get whenever they shake their head.
8.) Remove Rooney and remove excess water on his fur. Pat him with a towel to lessen the wetness but DO NOT BLOW DRY. He must be Air Dried only to ensure that the sulfur sips into his skin.
Repeat every 3-4 days until you see improvement.

- once you see that he is already recovering slowly, you can put a Sulfur with water already in a Spray Container. You can spray the affected areas only every 2-3 days already just so we can prevent it from coming back.
Once they are cured, no need to spray the sulfur already. You can just switch to a Madre De Cacao Spray you can buy online for prevention.

- Can discolor and dry their fur but this will get back to normal โค๏ธ
- When the affected area starts getting cured, itโll look like flaky scab wounds thatโll fall off eventually.

While your little one is on their treatment process and the ringworm infection is still active, refrain from touching them in infected areas. Do not let them sleep on your bed for the meantime to prevent them from infecting you. Remember that the flakes/dry skin can infect you.
๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฌ๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ ๐จ๐ญ ๐ข๐ง๐๐๐๐ญ๐๐ and started to have itchiness in your body, you can buy this medicines/cream
For itchiness oral medication:
- Zykast (morning & lunch)
- Cetirizine (evening)
Any of the Cream:
- Halovate (max of 2 weeks use since it has steroids) + Unscented Cetaphil lotion (1:2 ratio ๐ 1 line of Halovate is to 2 lines of Cetaphil then mix it together) 2x a day
- Switch to Canesten Cream (Clotrimazole) after if itchiness still persists
Bath Soap:
- Dr. Wong (Sulfur soap)

Your little ones must be feeling really sad, frustrated, and uncomfortableโฆ They must be hiding all the time and losing their confidence.
They can lose their appetite and get scared to use cat litter box because of the pain on their paws or butt.
Help them out even if itโll take time because they need you more right now. They see you as their parents who would take care of them when they are feeling worse and sick.
Just a lot of patience and understanding for now but itโll get better โค๏ธ
