PAWS LAUNCHES THE "CERTIFIED PET FRIENDLY" SEAL!

As pet ownership continues to grow in the Philippines, businesses have become eager to attract the pet parent market by branding themselves as "pet friendly." However, the misconception that "pet friendly" only applies to small or specific breed dogs and cats is both discriminatory and limiting. This creates a narrative that Aspins—who will never meet that size requirement or breed preference—are unworthy of being in these shared spaces and will never be the companion of choice.

Thousands of Aspins suffer on the streets. For decades, PAWS has worked tirelessly to make the Aspin, our beloved local dog, the top choice for companion animals in the country, while the pet breeding and buying industry continues to soar, marketing purebred pets as the "furbabies of choice." It’s high time we challenge these narrow views and embrace a true definition of pet friendliness—one that values pets regardless of size or breed.

That’s why we’re finally launching the PAWS Pet Friendly Seal—setting a gold standard for what it means to be truly pet friendly. Our comprehensive guidelines ensure pet parents can confidently choose restaurants, hotels, and businesses that welcome their beloved pets, without the worry of being turned away based on size or breed. At the same time, these guidelines help businesses embrace responsible pet owners while maintaining a safe, enjoyable environment for all by adhering to health and safety protocols and regulations. This creates positive experiences for all—pet parents and the general public alike.

Together, we can create inclusive spaces for all, while ensuring that every pet dog or cat—large or small, purebred or not—gets the love and respect they deserve.

🆘 We are appealing to airline companies if you can help us transport atleast 20 dogs from the Bulacan shelter to Bacolod.

We are running out of time and we understand that it’s peak sea*on but we would appreciate any form of help. We are willing to pay charity rate if not free so we can lessen the number of dogs we have to move.

We have prepared their vaccine cards and other documents to secure BAI permit but we can only proceed with everything once we already have confirmed flight schedules.

Your help and assistance would mean so much to the rescues this holiday sea*on🙏🏼
