TVT: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW š¶
Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT) is a type of tumor commonly seen in dogs, especially those that are unspayed, unneutered, or allowed to roam freely. It usually affects the ge***al area and can spread through direct contact during mating. In some cases, dogs can also acquire it through licking or close contact with an infected area.
Some common signs of TVT include:
⢠Bleeding or discharge from the ge***al area
⢠Swelling or a visible mass
⢠Frequent licking
⢠Difficulty urinating
⢠Weakness or discomfort in severe cases
The good news is that TVT can be treated, especially when detected early. Depending on the patientās condition, treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy, or a combination of both. Early consultation with a veterinarian greatly improves recovery and helps prevent complications.
If you notice unusual signs in your pet, do not ignore them. Early diagnosis and proper treatment can make a big difference in your petās health and comfort. š¾
