They left their house in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija at 3 am. Took the bus and prayed that they make it in time for the clinic's consult hours. Their cat Sundae has already undergone two surgical procedures at their local vet to help him p*e (perineal urethrostomy), but the urethral opening keeps on closing. After asking various cat groups and corresponding with one of our clients that had the same condition as Sundae, they decided to make the long trip to Makati. Even with the urgency of Sundae's condition and possible complication, they still patiently waited if surgery can be done on the same day.

That was two weeks ago. Now, Sundae and his humans, Chanel and April, are back for Sundae's suture removal. Sundae can now p*e without any pain and discomfort. He has already started to gain the weight he has lost when his condition started.

From all of us at Makati Animal Health Clinic, thank you very much for your trust. 🐈

Everyone loves a rescue story.

A friendly homeless puppy with a deformed leg used to roam around Airport Street in Baclaran. One day, a dentist who works in the area saw the limping puppy and instantly fell in love with it. She adopted the puppy and named him Potchi, because of his pinkish skin caused by an infection and poor nutrition.

Several months after Potchi's rescue, his human noticed that whenever Potchi would play with other dogs, his limp and fractured foot would get in the way. There was also a recurring infection on the affected limb. So they decided to have the leg amputated.

Always a fighter, Potchie immediately adjusted to his condition. Three days after amputation, he was already playing and running around.

Thank you Doc Celline for trusting Makati Animal Health Clinic for Potchi's surgery. 🐶

Our last and 2,291st surgical patient for the year: Macoy from Balara, QC. Just waiting for him to wake up from anesthesia.

It was a hectic yet fulfilling year. Of the 2,291 surgeries done at MAHC: 1,649 were spay-neuter, while 642 were other procedures. Such as dental extraction (523), growth removal (19), perineal urethrostomy (9), enucleation (6), re**al prolapse repair (5), and ear surgeries (9) among others. The clinic was also able to do 8 ovarian remnant spays.

From the entire Makati Animal Health Clinic team, thank you very much for your continued trust and support!

Looking forward to helping more indigent yet responsible pet owners in 2025!

Meet Tiago, another celebrity MAHC baby!

Last year, a scrawny male feral cat with severe respiratory infection was brought to the clinic by his rescuer. After his treatment, vaccination and neuter, his rescuer, who happens to own a coffee shop in Fort Santiago, decided to take him to his workplace.

As with most cats, he soon lorded over the entire coffee shop with his cuteness and gentle demeanor. Even receiving gifts/offerings from regulars of the coffee shop.

If you want to meet Tiago, you can visit him at his coffee shop, Papakape in Fort Santiago.

Thank you for sending us these photos Tiago! 🐈☕

While we dearly love all our perineal urethrostomy patients, Rio is by far the easiest and fastest post-op wound cleaning we ever had. 😀

**Perineal urethrostomy (PU) is a surgical procedure done in cats with chronic lower urinary tract disease. It involves widening of the urethral opening.
