Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV) Survivors

Meet KoyKoy and Choco Love our fighter and survivors.

FPV is a highly contagious and frequently fatal viral disease in cats, often called feline distemper or feline infectious enteritis. It is caused by the feline parvovirus, which attacks rapidly dividing cells- like those in the bone marrow and intestines and causes a severe drop in the white blood cells.

KoyKoy and Choco Love shows high fever, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea and severe dehydration.

Our veterinarian focused on intensive supportive care such as intravenous fluids, antibiotics, immune boosters and proper nutrition.

Meet our patient Pearl,

Our sweet Pearl has certainly shown us the meaning of resilience lately. Pearl was in the late stages of her pregnancy, but sadly, she gave birth to two kittens who had already passed away.

The situation quickly became critical as the risk of infection and poisoning from the kittens being inside her became a serious threat to her life.

To save her, she had to undergo an emergency ovariohysterectomy to remove the source of the infection and prevent further complications.

After several tense days of confinement and intensive care to fight off the toxicity in her system, we are so relieved to share that Pearl has survived this harrowing ordeal.

While we mourn the loss of her little ones, we are incredibly grateful that Pearl is still with us, recovering her strength, and proving just how strong she really is.

Thank you to the vet team who acted fast to give her this second chance at life.
