Edit: Her condition is one of undiagnosed and insufficiently managed ‘dry eyes’. Please don’t take excessive eye discharge for granted as it is quite often a 🚩 red flag for other conditions.

👁️ All about TONOMETRY 👁️

Determining the intraocular pressure (IOP) is highly indicated in patients who are presented to us with suspected blindness, apparently enlarged eyes, unequal and/or unresponsive pupil dilation, among others - not just glaucoma!

Even breeds that are known to be predisposed to developing glaucoma are recommended for monitoring, such as Cocker Spaniels, Boston Terriers, Chowchows, Beagles, and Poodles to name a few.

If your dog’s or cat’s eye is showing strange changes please don’t hesitate to contact your vet team!
