A cat reaching 30 years old isn’t just impressive—it means the feline has outlived some of the technologies people now use every day 🐱. At three decades old, this remarkable cat is older than the original iPhone released in 2007, older than YouTube which launched in 2005, and even older than Google, which was founded in 1998. It has also lived longer than the PlayStation 2, introduced in 2000, and even Wi-Fi, which first appeared in the late 1990s.

For comparison, the average domestic cat typically lives around 12 to 15 years, while cats that reach their early twenties are already considered exceptionally long-lived. Veterinarians say that genetics, proper nutrition, indoor living, and regular medical care can all significantly increase a cat’s lifespan.

A 30-year-old cat is roughly comparable to a human living well past 100 years. Stories like this remind us how deeply animals become part of our lives, quietly aging alongside generations of technology, trends, and human milestones. 🐾

In Japan, something beautiful sometimes happens when an old machine retires.

Workers hold a small ceremony to thank it for years of service.

They may bow, say a few words, or place flowers on the machine before it is taken away. It’s not about believing the machine has feelings. It’s about gratitude for the role it played and respect for the work it helped people do.

This attitude is partly influenced by Shinto traditions, where the idea of kami suggests that spirit can exist in many things, including tools and everyday objects.

So instead of treating machines as disposable, there’s a quiet moment to acknowledge the years they helped people build, create, and work.

It’s a simple gesture, but it says a lot about how a culture views craftsmanship, tools, and respect. ⚙️🇯🇵

Cats communicate in quiet, subtle ways, and one of their sweetest signals of trust is the slow blink 🐱. When a cat slowly closes and opens its eyes while looking at you, many animal behaviorists say it’s a sign of comfort and affection. Cat owners often call this gesture a “kitty kiss.”

In the wild, direct staring between animals can signal tension or threat. By slowly blinking, a cat is essentially showing that it feels safe enough to relax around you. It’s a peaceful signal that says, “I trust you.”

Scientific studies on feline behavior support this idea. Researchers have observed that cats are more likely to approach humans who slowly blink at them, suggesting the gesture works as a form of friendly communication between cats and people.

For many cats, this quiet exchange becomes part of their bond with their owner. When you return the slow blink, your cat may interpret it as reassurance and affection.

So the next time your cat gives you that gentle, sleepy blink, it might just be its way of saying “I like you” in the calm language of cats. 🐾

The famous apple tree at Woolsthorpe Manor is linked to the moment Isaac Newton began thinking about gravity in 1665. 🍎🌳 The story says a falling apple helped inspire his ideas about the force that pulls objects toward Earth.

The tree, now over 350 years old, still grows at Newton’s childhood home in Lincolnshire. 🏡 Today, the manor is a museum celebrating the discoveries that changed science forever. 🔬✨

Meet Itzae, the rare snow-white puma cub from Nicaragua 🐾

Born on July 20, 2023, at the Thomas Belt Zoo in Juigalpa, Itzae is a pure albino puma—an extremely rare sight in the wild. With snowy white fur, a soft pink nose, and striking blue eyes, this little cub stands out as one of the most unusual big cats ever seen.

Albinism in pumas occurs in fewer than 1 in 20,000, making Itzae a truly special natural wonder and a reminder of how incredible wildlife can be.

Fun fact: The name Itzae comes from the Mayan language and means “gift from God.” 🙏🏻
