They came into our lives with tiny paws, curious eyes, and hearts full of love—and in return, they gave us a kind of loyalty this world rarely sees. ❤️‍🩹

Today, we remember the pets who made our lives lighter, warmer, and more meaningful.

It hurts to live without them, but their memory continues to wrap around us like a soft blanket on the hardest days.

Gone from sight, but never from soul. 🌈

Yes, Betty? 😳🫣🤭
Why do dogs stare?
Dogs may stare at you for various reasons, including showing affection, seeking attention, or trying to understand your body language. A soft, squinty-eyed gaze often indicates affection and happiness, while a hard, intense stare can be a sign of a threat or guarding behavior. Understanding the context of the stare, along with other body language cues, helps decipher the message your dog is trying to convey.
As for Betty or Strawberry, she is a bit on guard, because it’s already evening when she’s brought in, her mom is carrying her, and she can be bit overly protective of her mom given her chihuahua-nature, and her eye’s are painful; it’s not shown but she has hyphema (presence of blood in the eye) due to trauma and infection.
For pet parents, it will be good to observe closely your pet’s behavior indoor and outdoor and as for our colleagues, vets, vet techs and nurses to take on cues like the way they stare, aside from their body positioning, tail wags and vocalization to assess if they are stressed, anxious, excited or calm.
Another thing, if you see any concerning stuff in or around your pet’s eyes, just like what Bett’s mom did, pls go directly to your attending veterinarian and refrain from getting OTC human eye meds

Just a heads up to catmoms/catdads, especially to new ones, this type of pet carrier is one of the recommended travel carrier for cats, whenever you bring them to the clinic.
Being away from their home, the noise and fatigue from travel, the smell of the clinic and other pets are all stressors even before their actual physical examination and labworks begin; so having a soace of their own, not too open may help curb their fear and stress a bit. You may consider bringing their treats, own towel or spaying Feliway on their carrier and towel.

Yes, adult pet dogs, and cats, still need their vaccinations too, at least yearly.
With the wet/dry season we have, especially at the moment when it suddenly rains, infections like Canine Distemper and Leptospirosis are starting ti become more prevalent; those are highly contagious and fatal infections. Prevention is key, those infections are included in the dog’s core vaccine: DHLPP or as commonly known as 5in1.
So like Buddy and Yssa here, bring your adult pets to your veterinarians to get them checked and vaccinated.
