Genetics applied on gamefowl is more on practical observation than appiled science and cannot be based on quatifiable measures. A lot of breeders talks about cutting ability, gameness and brains but cannot back thier claim in statistical forms
unlike the quantifiable characteristics on meat and egg laying rate on poultry production that can be measured numercally.

That is why in gamefowl breeding it is more of an art than applied science. When it comes to material selection and to the standards in choosing good breeding materials would be dependent on the breeders experience and his ability to asses his flock and how he streamline his process of selection and keep a good standard is always the cutting edge of real breeders.
