She was referred to us last night for emergency CS due to prolonged labor and stuck puppy on her vaginal opening. Presented with light dehydration, lethargy and obvious pain. 😰
Mara gave delivered 3 healthy pups two days ago and to the shock of the owner that it shows labor straining and pain yesterday! 😫
Not long that the paws of a puppy popped out but stuck on breech position. 😱 We opt to perform CS to extract the retained pup. 🐶 Unfortunately, the pup is long dead. 🌈
Mara is now in recovery ❤️🩹

In dogs, a breech birth, where the puppy emerges tail or bottom first with hind legs forward, is abnormal but can sometimes occur, potentially requiring veterinary assistance or a Cesarean section. 💫
In this case, sunset (chihuahua) has been in labor for hours with puppy stuck in her vulva in breech position—bottom first. We induce and assist delivery until the puppy was out. Unfortunately, the pup did not survive. 🥺
🎥 In this video, Mother dog is eating the placenta as a natural instinct to clean up the birthing area and to provide themselves with a nutritional boost. The puppy has an elongated neck due to prolonged straining of the mother during labor.
Knowing chihuahua’s temperament, it was not an easy feat to care for this one. Occasional snaps from the mother dog due to pain & fear needs extra patience 💪 and it was a relief that she did not undergo caesarian section. Strong mommy!
If you see your cat/dog that needs vet intervention, please reach out to us immediately. We know that this is not cheap and sometimes costly but nagagawan naman ng paraan 🤗

🔥CAT DEWORMING🔥
✨Treating and preventing worms in kittens is very important to their health! 🪱Most worms live in the intestines causes damage to the gut lining and steal food that the cat should be digesting. 🤢They rarely cause serious illness in adult cats but can interfere with a kitten's growth and nutrition. 🤮
What happens if I don't deworm my cat? 🧐
🤕If your cat isn't dewormed and continues to live with intestinal parasites, they can become re-exposed and acquire more parasites over time. 💫This can lead to medical conditions such as loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, bloated belly, poor hair coat, and weight loss. 🤧
It is also important to help to prevent transmission of parasites to you and your human family members! 🤒

🏊♀️‼️SWIMMER SYNDROME KITTEN‼️🏊♀️
What’s that? 🙀
“SPLAY LEGS” or Swimmer Syndrome is a congenital condition that can occur in young kittens and puppies, causing the legs (typically the hind limbs) to splay laterally often resembling a frog-like posture 🐸, with the hips jutting out to the side of the body and the feet facing sideways, rather than placed underneath the body. It is due to improperly developed muscles and tendons making it difficult or impossible for them to walk properly. ♿️
Can be fix by early intervention with leg wrapping or bracing, combined with physical therapy to stre the muscles. If left untreated, may not able to walk properly and could develop further complication.

⭐️Pyometra is a serious uterine infection in female dogs that can be life-threatening if left untreated. It's caused by hormonal changes and bacteria. 🧫
🦠 Symptoms are Vaginal discharge, Fever, Lethargy, Vomiting, Depression, Increased thirst and urination, and Distended abdomen. 🤢
😷The preferred treatment for pyometra is surgery to remove the uterus and ovaries, also known as a spay or ovariohysterectomy. Prevention is spaying at a young and healthy age is the best way to prevent pyometra. 🤧
📌Any female dog that has not been spayed can develop a pyometra, but they are more common in middle-aged to older female dogs. If left untreated, the pus can leak into the abdomen causing peritonitis, sepsis, dehydration, kidney failure, and even death. If signs of pyometra are noticed, seek aggressive veterinary care promptly. 👩⚕️

Looks gross! 🤢 but its beneficial for them ☺️
Cats typically eat their placenta, also called the "afterbirth," as a natural instinct to eliminate the scent that could attract predators to their birthing site 😱, essentially acting as a protective mechanism for their newborn kittens; this behavior is considered normal and is not usually a cause for concern.
Key points about cats eating their placenta:
* Predator protection: The primary reason is to mask the smell of blood and fetal tissue that could draw predators to the nesting area.
* Nutritional benefit: While not the main reason, the placenta also contains nutrients that can help the mother cat recover from birthing.
* Instinctive behavior: Most female cats will naturally eat the placenta after giving birth.
So the next time you see them eating their placenta just let them be 😉
