👁️ Why Do They Do This?

When ducks sleep in groups, those on the outside of the group may keep one eye open to watch for potential danger while the other side of their brain rests.

✔️ The eye facing away from the group can stay open to watch for predators.
✔️ The opposite side of the brain can enter a resting state.
✔️ Ducks can switch which side of their brain is resting.
