Bilang bahagi ng adbokasiya ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Imus para sa kalusugan ng publiko, kapakanan ng hayop, at responsableng pet ownership, nakikiisa ang pamahalaan sa pagdiriwang ng World Spay Day.

Layon ng araw na ito na ipaalam sa mga Imuseño ang kahalagahan ng pagpapakapon sa mga alagang a*o at pusa upang maiwasan ang pagdami ng mga hayop na napababayaan at mapabuti ang kanilang kalusugan.

Narito ang benepisyo ng pagkakapon sa mga alagang a*o at pusa, ayon sa The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS):

🟢Pagbaba sa bilang ng mga a*o at pusa na kalimitang inaabandona at nagpapagala sa lansangan.
🟢Mas mababa ang tyansa na magkaroon ng kanser, higit ang breast cancer at pyometra sa mga babae habang testicular cancer sa mga lalaki.
🟢Mas mahabang buhay ng tatlo hanggang limang taon.
🟢Mas maamong pag-uugali.
🟢Maiibsan ang pag-ihi kung saan-saan.

Ang kapon ay mahalaga para sa kabuuang kalusugan at kapakanan ng mga alagang a*o at pusa. Sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang pagkilos ng pamahalaan at fur parents, makakamit ng bawat isa ang mas ligtas at mas maayos na komunidad.

Sa Imus, nagbibigay ng abot-kayang kapon ang Office of the City Veterinarian para sa mga alagang hayop na hanggang 15kg ang timbang.

Maging responsableng fur parent, ipakapon ang inyong fur babies.

🐾Successful "Cherry Eye" Repair Surgery.

🐶MEET BAOBAO!🐶

He was diagnosed with prolapse of the third eyelid or "cherry eye" when he was four months old.

This is him one month post-surgery with no traces of cherry eye.

🩺Short Background of the condition:
It is a painful eversion of the third eyelid cartilage resulting in a partial or full prolapse of the third eyelid gland. The precise cause of cherry eye is unknown, and it’s hard to predict which dogs will be affected. The gland can also prolapse on its own.

Cherry eye can affect one or both of a dog’s eyes. Any breed is susceptible to this condition, even dogs with long noses. However, cherry eye tends to be more common in younger dogs. It’s also more common in some breeds, including the Basset Hound, Beagle, Boxer, Bulldog, Cane Corso, Cocker Spaniel, Coton de Tulear, French Bulldog, Great Dane, Lhasa Apso, Maltese, Neapolitan Mastiff, Pekingese, Rottweiler, Shar Pei, and Shih Tzu.

There is something heartbreaking that keeps repeating online lately.

A pet gets sick.

The post that comes out on Facebook is not:
