🌈 Remembering Buddy – The Beginning of Everything 🌈

It’s been 8 years since we said goodbye to Buddy, our loyal Labrador Retriever—but today, his memory feels especially strong.

Buddy wasn’t just our family dog. He was the reason BASAR – Ben Animal Sanctuary and Rescue ever came to life. It was Buddy who first opened my dad’s heart to the bigger mission—to care for every neglected, abused, and abandoned animal he could possibly save. Dad always said Buddy taught him what unconditional love truly meant.

Now, both Buddy and my dad have crossed the rainbow bridge. Though they passed years apart, I like to believe they’ve found each other again—running free, side by side, just like they used to.

As I try to carry on my dad’s mission, I realize more and more how extraordinary he was. The way he cared for every fur baby as if they were his own. The way he sacrificed his comfort, time, and even his health—just to make sure no animal felt unloved.

Filling those shoes is not easy. Some days, the weight feels overwhelming. But I try—every single day—because this legacy of compassion is too important to let fade.

If Buddy sparked something in you, or if my dad ever moved you with his love for animals, I ask from the bottom of my heart: please continue supporting BASAR. Your donations, your help, your voice—they keep this sanctuary going. They keep my dad’s dream alive.

🌽🌾 Feeding and Protecting Our Rescued Fur Babies at BASAR! 🐶❤️

At BASAR (Philippine Animal Sanctuary and Rescue), we believe in sustainable care and love for our rescued animals — and that starts with the land. 💚

We’re currently working hard in the cornfields and preparing the rice fields to plant rice that will serve as food for our rescued dogs. This not only helps us sustain their nutrition but also gives us a chance to grow more and rely less on purchased goods. Every grain we plant is a promise of another meal for a fur baby who has known hunger before. 🐾

But while we work on long-term food solutions, we also face urgent concerns—especially this scorching summer season. ☀️🌡️ With the heat index reaching 42°C, our dogs are at serious risk of heatstroke and dehydration.

That’s why we’re launching our “COOL PAWS PROJECT” 🧊🐕 — an emergency initiative under Project BASAR to:
✅ Build shaded cooling stations
✅ Provide clean, cold drinking water daily
✅ Add more fans and misting areas
✅ Offer electrolyte-enriched hydration and frozen treats

Treat Day at BASAR!

Today was extra special—our rescued dogs enjoyed some delicious jerky treats, generously donated by one of our kind-hearted supporters. They wagged their tails, munched happily, and for a moment, all the hurt and hardship they’ve been through seemed a little lighter.

They deserve good things. Every dog does.
