Today, another patient visited the clinic.
Lily, 1 year old female dog. The owner told us about the decrease in food intake of Lily. We observed that Lily has skin rashes on her abdominal area and suggested to the owner to conduct cbc and test kit.

Cbc shows a decrease in the number of platelets, hemoglobin, and RBC. Also, the test kit shows a positive result of Ehrlichiosis.

We give Lily a treatment regimen and instructed the owner about the condition and the disease.

Get well Lily!

Last Saturday, June 7, a patient named Derek, Labrador, 2 years old, visited the clinic for check-up.

The owner observed that Derek has decreased appetite, on and off fever, and shedding of fur.

Upon check-up, we suggested to do bloodwork and ehrlichia test. The result was he is positive with erhlichia and showing a decrease RBC and Platelets.

Ehrlichiosis is a tick-borne bacterial disease that primarily affects the blood cells.

A regular tick prevention is the key to avoid this disease.

Get well soon Derek!

Canine parvovirus is a highly contagious virus that commonly causes GI disease in young, unvaccinated dogs. Presenting signs include anorexia, lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea, which is often hemorrhagic. Diagnosis is typically based on history, physical examination findings, and f***l antigen testing. Treatment is largely supportive on an inpatient or outpatient basis because specific therapies are not available.
