DID YOU KNOW: Shih Tzus exhibit different energy levels throughout their lives, with the most significant changes occurring as they mature.

Puppies between 0–12 months are highly energetic, often displaying "zoomies" and short bursts of intense activity, though they also nap frequently.

Between 12–18 months, young adults begin to settle, responding more consistently to routines and showing reduced bursts of play.

By the mature adult stage (3–10 years), most Shih Tzus develop a balanced, mellow temperament, enjoying structured play and daily walks without excessive hyperactivity.

Senior Shih Tzus (10+ years) show a noticeable reduction in energy, preferring light walks, mental enrichment, and snuggling over vigorous activity.
