This is a young Cane Corso pup, and while he is very cute, it's crucial to know that Cane Corsos stem from a light-version of ancient Roman Molossian dogs (Canis Pugnax), which were used as auxiliary warriors in the Roman Wars. These are serious guard dogs! After the wars, Cane Corsos emerged from these ancient Roman Molossian dogs, and were used to hunt large game. THIS BREED IS NOT FOR FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS. As natural guardians, they are suspicious of strangers and environmental changes and are highly territorial of their homes. Due to their nature as hunting dogs, they can fixate on animals or even humans from natural prey responses, which, if unchecked, can quickly escalate to aggression. Being a responsible dog owner means lots of socialization, training, and time with this breed to ensure they can focus on the owner with many distractions, especially animals, and new people. They should be exposed to many environments to ensure they are relaxed in new places. Never buy this breed unless you plan to invest TIME and effort in training. Cane Corsos are bred for confidence, loyalty, and intelligence, and they make good companions with individuals who understand their temperament and practice responsible Cane Corso ownership. This is not a breed for the faint of heart. 🖤
