IT TAKES COMMUNITIES TO CREATE BETTER SOCIETIES

On May 24th, we would like to invite everyone to join our Introduction to Safe Spaces for Animals for communities interested to learn about one of the projects of Davao City.

We have started with Azuela Cove through the joint effort of the Ayala Properties and Tails and Whiskers. It has been running for a year now. It is not without challenges, but the place has turned not only a pet friendly community but a humane place for animals without the discrimination.

There are many animal lovers, concern citizens and animal sympathizers who would prefer to have a friendlier community for the animals rather than always calling for the dog pound to impound and euthanize them. Many of us understand that these abandoned animals are victims of their owners, and they do not deserve to be made accountable to their owners mistakes and violations to their welfare.

Meet Haru 🐾💛, a brave 2-year-old Golden Retriever who recently underwent surgery after being diagnosed with hemometra.

Hemometra is a serious condition where blood accumulates inside the uterus, often caused by hormonal changes, infection, trauma, or reproductive complications.

Pets with hemometra may show signs such as lethargy, loss of appetite, abdominal enlargement, weakness, or abnormal discharge. If left untreated, it can become life-threatening and may lead to severe infection or anemia.

Thankfully, Haru received immediate veterinary care, underwent a successful surgery, and is now recovering well with continuous medication and supportive treatment. 🩺✨

Tails and Whiskers Azuela Cove is open for grooming daily. We open by 10am and strictly first come first served basis.

Reminders: Pet’s must be vaccinated with Anti-Rabies for the protection of other pets and for our staffs safety. 🤗

A friend and a cat rescuer herself, Ms. G, has pledged for P5000 to buy cages for these cats we want to get from the fire site in 23C. Beyond the recent tragic event that cost the lives of unaccounted number of animals, we intend to rescue the cats as the place is not the best place for these stray cats. Estimated 5 to 10 cats are in need of a better home. We are looking at the shelter where we can place them.

However, its the cats’ check up and clearance from viral infection that we need to secure before we can rescue them. We are looking for at least 8 people who can be the good godmother of these cats that we plan to rescue. Each cat needs P2000 for the initial clinic visit.
