What is Parvo?
- Canine parvovirus (CPV) is a highly contagious virus that affects dogs of all ages, but especially puppies.
Symptoms:
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Fever
- Lethargy
- Loss of appetite

Prevention‼️
Vaccinate your puppy with the core parvovirus vaccine
Keep your puppy away from public areas and dogs that may be unvaccinated
Practice good hygiene (wash hands frequently, disinfect surfaces)

What to do if you suspect Parvo⁉️

Contact your vet immediately👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️
Keep your puppy isolated to prevent transmission

What is a Salivary Mucocele?
A salivary mucocele is a type of cyst or swelling that occurs when a salivary gland or duct becomes blocked, leading to an accumulation of mucus.

📌Recognize the Signs
1. *Swelling or lump* in the face, neck, or mouth
2. *Pain or discomfort* when eating or swallowing
3. *Difficulty eating or swallowing*
4. *Discharge or rupture* of the mucocele

📌Know the Risks
1. *Breed predisposition*: German Shepherds, Poodles, Dachshunds, and other breeds are more prone
2. *Age*: Mucoceles can occur at any age, but are more common in middle-aged to older dogs
3. *Trauma*: Injury to the salivary gland or duct can increase the risk

📌 How to diagnose⁉️
1. Physical examination
2. Imaging studies (e.g., radiographs, ultrasound)
3. Fine-needle aspiration biopsy

Dystocia, or difficult birth, is a life-threatening condition requiring immediate veterinary attention. Common causes include genetics, obesity, pelvic issues and fetal malposition. Symptoms include prolonged labor (>2 hours between puppies), restlessness, abnormal vaginal discharge, abdominal pain and lack of progress. Responsible breeding practices, maintaining healthy weight and regular veterinary check-ups can help prevent dystocia.
If you suspect your pregnant fur-baby is experiencing dystocia, seek emergency veterinary care.
