This is Migo.
Migo did not choose this life.

He is from Camotes Island, where he was once a normal stray dog until a hit and run motorcycle accident left him paralyzed in his hind legs. No one stopped. No one helped. From that day on, Migo had to drag his body under the heat of the sun, crawling from place to place just to find food. When night came or when the rain poured, he searched desperately for a corner to hide, cold, hungry, and in pain.

This was his life until someone finally cared.

Migo was rescued by Cassandra Cooper, who tirelessly saves strays through the Camotes Aspin Project. Day after day, she gives abandoned, injured, and forgotten animals a second chance often with very limited resources, but with an endless heart. The life Migo has today is only possible because of her compassion and commitment to animals that the world has turned its back on.

Now, Migo moves with the help of wheels.
But what he truly needs… is a home.

We are praying for someone with a kind and patient heart who can take care of Migo for the rest of his life. Someone who will not see him as a burden, but as a soul who has already suffered enough. Migo deserves to know what it feels like to be safe, loved, and chosen.

If adoption is not possible for you, you can still help.
You may support the Camotes Aspin Project by messaging them directly or reaching out to Cassandra Cooper. Every message, every share, and every bit of support helps dogs like Migo survive and heal.

Please don’t look away.
Migo has already endured more than a lifetime of pain.
Let’s give him the life he never had but always deserved.

In the aftermath of Bagyong Tino, our clinic has unfortunately been one of the many affected by the flash floods. The damage is severe — floodwaters reached our machines, and much of our medicines and supplies were washed away.

Despite the devastation, we stand here beyond grateful — grateful for life, for safety, and for the unwavering kindness shown by our friends, colleagues, and community. Your immediate help through essentials, medicines, and monetary support has truly been a light during this dark time. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. 💚

In the spirit of gratitude and compassion, we would like to give back in our own small way. To those with infants or young children who are in need of clean water, canned goods, or basic medicines, we will be offering limited supplies to help. Our resources may be small, but we firmly believe that small efforts can make a big impact, especially when we all come together.

One of my favorite lines in life has always been:

“Until death, all defeat is psychological.”

Let this serve as a reminder to stay strong, hold on to faith, and never lose hope. With God’s grace and our shared compassion, we will rise again! stronger and more united than before. 🙏

🐶 WAFFLES’ SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE 🩷

Meet Waffles, our sweet senior patient who recently battled a life-threatening condition — Pyometra infection (a severe infection of the uterus common in unspayed female dogs).

Her owner came to us worried because Waffles was lethargic, refusing to eat, and her abdomen was getting bigger. Knowing these warning signs, We immediately suspected a possible pyometra case and recommended a CBC (complete blood count) and ultrasound — the gold standard in diagnosing this condition.

The CBC results showed a high white blood cell count, indicating infection.
During the ultrasound, it was confirmed — Waffles had Pyometra.

Before surgery, we carefully discussed the risks and chances with Waffles’ owner. Thankfully, the procedure and post-treatment went well. Waffles recovered slowly but surely — at first, she was too weak and let us feed and medicate her without complaint.

But as she regained her strength… she was back to her feisty self — barking and even trying to bite us again during meds time! 😂 That’s when we knew our girl was really feeling better.

This case highlights the importance of thorough history-taking, physical examination, and proper diagnostic tests in identifying serious conditions like pyometra.

💙 Today, Waffles is infection-free and thriving, enjoying her well-deserved second chance at life.
We’re deeply thankful to her owner for not giving up on her, even in the toughest moments.

🐾 At Grandline Veterinary Clinic, we’re always here to provide the right care, diagnostics, and love your pets deserve.

🐾 Case Highlight of the Week 🐾

A cat was brought to our clinic after almost a week of having difficulty swallowing and coughing while eating. Upon thorough history taking and physical examination, Doc Adrian suspected that something might be lodged in the throat—especially since the owner mentioned the cat’s habit of eating leftovers outside the house.

A radiograph was performed and voilà—the culprit was revealed: a bone stuck in the throat! 📸🦴

The treatment plan, retrieval approach, and possible risks were carefully explained to the owner. Thankfully, the procedure went smoothly, and the bone was successfully removed. The patient is now recovering very well and happily eating normally again. 🐱❤️

This case highlights how vital radiographs are in veterinary medicine. Without it, diagnosing and treating such conditions would be much more difficult. Advanced tools truly help us give the best care possible to our furry friends. 🩺✨

🐾 July Surgery Highlight: Lucky’s Road to Recovery 🐾

Meet Lucky, a brave little Pomeranian who came to us with serious health concerns. His furparents noticed he was having difficulty urinating, had a reduced appetite, and seemed weak and lethargic.

💡 Initial Assessment:
Suspecting possible bladder stones, Doc Adrian immediately ordered an X-ray. The results revealed small stones blocking the urethra and a large stone lodged in the bladder — a dangerous condition that can be life-threatening if not treated quickly.

🧪 Preparation for Surgery:
To ensure Lucky’s safety, necessary laboratory tests were performed to fully assess his overall health before proceeding.

🔪 The Surgery:
Doc Adrian discussed with Lucky’s parents the need for immediate surgery, explaining the risks and possible outcomes. Lucky underwent two surgical procedures:
1. Cystotomy – to remove the large stone from the bladder.
2. Urethrostomy – to create a new permanent opening in the urethra, reducing the risk of future blockages during urination.

💡 Advantage of Urethrostomy:
This procedure is especially helpful for male dogs prone to urinary obstructions. By creating a wider, new opening for urine to pass, it prevents stones from getting stuck in the narrow urethra, greatly reducing the chance of another life-threatening blockage.

❤️ The Outcome:
Thanks to the swift action, skilled surgery, and the loving commitment of Lucky’s furparents, Lucky made a full recovery. Today, he is back to his playful and cheerful self — free from the pain and danger of urinary stones.

This case reminds us that early detection, immediate intervention, and strong collaboration between vets and pet parents can save lives.

🐾 Meet Rocky — Our Little Fighter 🐾

Rocky came to us battling one of the most dangerous and often fatal viruses for dogs — parvovirus. Through constant monitoring, dedication, and a whole lot of love, Rocky pulled through and is now on the road to full recovery. 💪❤️

We give our biggest respect and salute to Rocky’s loving parents, who went above and beyond — extending their hands and doing everything possible to save him, even when the outcome was uncertain. 🙌🐶

At our clinic, we cannot guarantee the outcome of every case, but one thing is certain — we will always give our very best to help our patients recover.

Rocky’s story is a reminder of how important it is to vaccinate your puppies as early as 6 weeks old to protect them from life-threatening diseases like parvo.

We’ve had battles we didn’t win, but stories like Rocky’s give us the strength to keep fighting for every life we can save. 🐾✨
