VMLE 2017 Results incoming!

The Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Licensure Exam is the exam-of-all-exams for Filipino veterinarians.

It is a tough one. The national Passing rate in the past ten years averaged only at 32.51%. Roughly speaking, only 3 out 10 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine graduates will be able to get a license and practice. It is a rare fruit of labor of at least 6 years in Vet school.

The program is currently offered at only 24 universities all over the Philippines, having University of the Philippines, Los Baños as top School for passers averaging at 89.69% in the last 4 years. Central Luzon State University meanwhile, has always secured the coveted top 1 post by an examinee consistently in the last four years! This year, will it still be coming from CLSU?

The national passing rate has shown progress and has increased to 37.97% in the last 5 years. Averaging at only 238 new licensed veterinarians each year, there are only 5000 in current estimates, veterinarians in the Philippines. Not a very big number of people to take care of man’s best friend, food security and public health from zoonotic diseases. Truly, veterinarians are of a rare breed!

Today, 8/17/17, marked the end of a three-day exam. Exam results don’t take very long to become available. PRC has announced that official results will be available 3 working days after the last day of exams, or will it be available at 6 PM the following day as usually it is? Happy waiting.

I would like to thank the students who were there to sweat with us for the success of OCTOBERPETS 2014. Everyday you spend as a student is a learning process. Learning is not limited to the classroom and neither be completed even after you graduated and got your license numbers. We indulged with people and we have to deal with people particularly those who has the love for the kingdom Animalia. I saw you all how you worked and i was observing each and everyone how you deal with the task being given to you. I was impressed in most of you, though, i have seen some of you didn't took it seriously and some have time to snatched some of the goodies again!. Remember you are not cheating on us but to yourselves.
To the different organizations, i would like to extend the deepest gratitude for your help for the event. SAVERS, CLINICIANS SOCIETY, VKV-VLV, and PETSCIENCE (Sequence doesn't matter!) had shown their talents and creativity. To pet science who displayed there exotic pets (please check DENR permit though!) thanks to you. Thanks to the assistance of VKV-VLV on the games (it was fun!) and your creativity on your booth. To savers who displayed also there creativity on the booth (i love the hand with pictures) and the cute COLLAGE! which was supposedly cancelled BUT i really appreciate how you did it and for that i will give you a special certificate for the collage.
Remember students that you are treated equally and fair.
Always remember this "Always have this attitude of a good student..have a hunger for learning, learning even if it looks like nothing, never quit learning, and not to be arrogant and boastful of what you are learning"
