This sweet patient’s owner traveled more than 20 km to visit our clinic. We were the third clinic she visited, doing everything possible to save her beloved dog who was suffering from pyometra.
After evaluating her cbc and physical condition, it was apparent that she was not ready for surgery since she also had babesia canis (hematocrit 11% , low platelet, very high wbc from pyometra). We had to stabilize first with medication and trips to a clinic closer to home for hormone injection to support her blood (Thank you Good Shepherd Vet Clinic Liloan!!). A week later, she was finally stable enough to have her surgery. It was a difficult journey, but her owner never gave up.
Another week later, we’re happy to share that she is stable, healing well, and expected to make a full recovery. 🐾
Her recovery is a beautiful reminder of what a dedicated family can do for their beloved companion. No excuses, only action and a positive mindset for things to work out.
We are grateful to have been part of her journey and wish her continued healing! 🐶
