Feline panleukopenia virus (FPV), also known as feline distemper or feline parvovirus, is a highly contagious viral infection. It mainly affects kittens and unvaccinated cats.

FPV targets quickly dividing cells, specifically those in the bone marrow, lymph nodes, and intestines. This causes an extensive loss of white blood cells, which compromises the immune system. FPV symptoms include fever, vomiting, diarrhea (frequently bloody), anorexia, dehydration, and lethargy.

FCoV infection is frequently asymptomatic or causes minor, self-limiting symptoms. In rare situations, the virus may evolve into the more serious Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). It's worth noting that not all cats infected with FCoV get FIP. FIP is caused by a mutation that develops within the body of an individual cat and is not communicable.

Giardiasis is an intestinal infection of humans and animals caused by a microscopic protozoan. It is a simple one-celled parasitic species, not a worm, bacteria, or virus. It can live in the intestines of cats (and other animals, including dogs and humans) and cause severe gastrointestinal disease. It is spread by fecal-contaminated water, food, or soil.

Since viruses are anywhere, cats might be infected in many uncertain ways. Feline Panleukopenia spreads easily and quickly, and if not caught in a timely manner is very hard to treat. Secure your pets by completing their vaccines and providing daily vitamins.
