1. Pets should be healthy (1) one week prior to surgery.
2. Required age for cats is 4 months old and above, and at least 2.5 kgs body weight, for dogs 6 months old and above.
3. Blood test (CBC) is suggested before the surgery to reduce the risk and complications.
4. It is recommended that your pet is fully vaccinated before the surgery.
5. Cats should be in secured cage, and dogs should be on leash.
6. Fasting (no food, no water) for at least 6-8 hours.
7. Mother cats/dogs that have or just given birth should wait at least 1 to 2 months after she gave birth.
8. Your cat will have ear notch/tattoo, which serves as a universal indicator that they have been neutered.

Stump Pyometra: A Hidden Danger!

“What is Stump Pyometra? A potentially life-threatening condition caused by incomplete removal of the uterus and/or ovaries during spaying.

Below is a case of STUMP PYOMETRA.

In the images, both ovaries are intact; uterine horns are incompletely removed - appears to be swollen and polycystic.
There is hypervascularity of the remaining broad ligament of the uterus.

Symptoms may include but not limited to:
-Vaginal discharge
-Distended abdomen
-Fever
-Lethargy
-Inappetence

COMPLICATION DUE TO THIS CONDITION CAN BE FATAL!!!

Protect your pets from stump pyometra! It’s a preventable condition. Be sure to have your dogs and cats spayed by a licensed and experienced veterinarian.
