What is Leptospirosis?
Leptospirosis is a serious bacterial infection that affects dogs and other animalsโand it can even spread to humans. Itโs caused by a bacteria called Leptospira, found in water or soil contaminated by the urine of infected animals (like rats, raccoons, or livestock.

Your dog can become infected by:
โข Drinking or swimming in contaminated water (puddles, ponds, lakes)
โข Contact with infected urine or soil
โข Bites from infected animals
โข Contact through cuts or mucous membranes (like eyes or mouth)
