ICYMI: BDO Unibank cemented its position as the Philippines’ largest lender in 2025, leading a surge in assets among top-tier private banks as the country’s total banking resources expanded to nearly ₱30 trillion.
The Sy-led lender grew its assets by 12.96% to ₱5.27 trillion at the end of 2025. BDO added ₱605.23 billion in resources during the year, the largest increase in the industry, accounting for approximately 18% of the Philippine banking system’s ₱29.9 trillion in total assets.
