Phlippine Eagles are monogamous, staying devoted to one partner for life.

In the wild, they remain loyal until death. In some cases, when one dies,the surviving eagle will seek another mate. The courtship process begins all over again to form a new bond.

But here’s the heartbreak:
With fewer forests and an already small population, it’s getting harder for eagles to even find a mate in the first place.

That’s why our conservation work matters so much. By protecting forests, releasing eagles back into the wild, and involving communities in reforestation, we’re helping give these birds a fighting chance to survive.

This rainy season, before starting your vehicle, take the time to check if there are any animals hiding in it! Cats and dogs often take shelter under the vehicle, on top of tires, under the hood, and even on top of the engine to keep safe, warm, and dry.

Before we drive off, let’s spare a few minutes to make sure no animal is in danger! 🌧

Make sure to have these essentials:

✓ Carriers or leashes for each animal
✓ 3 days’ worth of food, water, and bowls
✓ Medications & important medical records
✓ Comfort items (toys, blankets)
✓ Waste disposal supplies (litter, bags)
✓ Pet identification (tags, microchip info)

Noticed that your neighbor’s pet has been left outside the house in the rain, shivering and cold? Noticed that they’ve been hoarding pets, unable to properly take care of them?

Don’t ignore! That’s ANIMAL NEGLECT! NEGLECT is just another form of ABUSE.

Under the Animal Welfare Act (RA No. 8485), neglecting to provide adequate care for a pet is unlawful. If you notice an animal being neglected, first try a good-natured, non-hostile approach and educate the pet owner about responsible pet ownership.

If the neglect persists, gather evidence (e.g. photos and videos) of the pattern of neglect, and report it to the authorities such as your barangay or by calling 911. If no action is done by you, the witness, the pet cannot be saved.

Let us have empathy for the animals around us and use our capabilities to protect them. STOP ANIMAL NEGLECT!
