Microscopic mites, such as those causing mange or ear mites, can lead to skin inflammation, ear infections, and discomfort if left untreated.

Early detection and proper treatment are important to keep pets healthy and comfortable. Common signs include excessive scratching, redness, scabs, dandruff-like flakes, hair thinning, and frequent shaking of the ears. Veterinary care may include anti-parasitic medications, medicated shampoos, spot-on treatments, oral preventives, or injections depending on the severity of the infestation. Regular grooming, maintaining a clean environment, and monthly parasite prevention are the best ways to protect dogs and cats from fleas, ticks, and mites.
