🐾 Emergency Case at Elgins Animal Clinic 🐱❤️
A pregnant cat was brought to Elgins Animal Clinic in critical condition due to severe uterine bleeding, requiring immediate surgical intervention.
Our veterinary team performed an emergency cesarean section to address the life-threatening situation. During surgery, an ovarian cyst was also identified, increasing the risk of further complications. To safeguard the mother cat's health and prevent future reproductive disease, we proceeded with an ovariohysterectomy (removal of the uterus and ovaries).
This case is a reminder that pregnancy in pets can sometimes become unpredictable, and early veterinary care can make all the difference. If you notice abnormal bleeding, prolonged labor, loss of appetite, or weakness in your pregnant pet, seek veterinary attention as soon as possible.
Thank you to our client for trusting Elgins Animal Clinic during this emergency. We wish our brave mama cat a smooth and speedy recovery. 💚🐱
