The National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) reminds the public to exercise vigilance when purchasing meat and meat products, whether locally produced or imported, especially through online platforms.

Recently, there has been an increase in the distribution and consumption of imported meat products online. While some of these products may appear affordable and convenient, the NMIS emphasizes the importance of ensuring that all meat and meat products are:

✅ Sourced from accredited meat establishments that comply with food safety and inspection standards.
✅ Properly labeled and documented, including Meat Inspection Certificate (MIC) or Certificate Of Meat Inspection (COMI) and other importation clearance.
✅ Handled, transported, and stored under appropriate cold chain conditions to maintain quality and safety.

The public is strongly cautioned against buying meat and meat products from unverified online sellers, as these may pose health risks due to possible contamination, spoilage, or mishandling.

For your safety and that of your family, always buy meat only from trusted and accredited sources.

For inquiries or reports, you may contact the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) through email at [email protected] or telephone at (02) 8924 7980, or visit the Regional Technical Operation Centers near you.

I palpated everyone yesterday and not a single doe was bred….
It’s ok, I don’t NEED more litters right now and I told myself no breeding until September or October.
Because no does took, all being bred to the same buck, I think it’s safe to assume Burrata is experiencing some heat sterility. He will likely be sterile for the next few weeks to come as our heat soars into the 90°f range again this week.
“Heat sterile" refers to a temporary state of infertility in bucks caused by exposure to prolonged periods of heat. Typically temperatures exceeding 85°F for several days, can render a buck infertile. This condition is usually temporary, and bucks will regain fertility as temperatures cool down.
Maybe next month….
