An 11-year-old boy from Ontario, Canada, di*d from rabies after waking up to find a bat on his face while sleeping during a family trip, according to a recently published medical case report.
Doctors said no visible bite or scratch marks were found at the time, and the family did not seek medical treatment. Nineteen days later, the boy developed symptoms and was eventually diagnosed with rabies, a disease that is almost always fatal once symptoms appear.
