Meet Ollie! 🐱🩹
Ollie was brought to us with a deep neck laceration caused by an embedded, overly tight collar. Collar injuries can happen quickly, especially as young, growing cats outgrow their collars or get them snagged while exploring.
🩺 Treatment & Progress:
After careful wound debridement, surgical closure, and post-op care (including antibiotics and pain management), we are thrilled to report that Ollie’s neck has fully healed! Today was officially his stitch removal day, and he handled it like an absolute champion.
💡 Pet Parent Reminder Collar Safety:
The Two-Finger Rule: Always ensure you can comfortably fit two fingers between your pet’s collar and their neck.
Check Regularly: Frequently adjust collars for growing kittens and young cats.
Use Breakaway Collars: Quick-release/breakaway collars are designed to unclip if a cat gets caught on a fence, branch, or furniture, preventing dangerous embedded injuries.
We’re so happy to see Ollie happy, healthy, and collar-injury free! 🐾✨
