OXYTANE 5: Smart, Safe, and Sustainable Biosecurity for Livestock Farms 🌿🐓
Biosecurity isn't just protection — it's prevention with purpose.
On October 8, 2025, the Provincial Veterinary Office of Negros Occidental transformed an ordinary day into a powerful learning experience for the Hog Raisers Association of Negros Occidental. Guided by Dr. Placeda Lemana, PVO Department Head, and Ms. Catherine Narez Granzo, the training titled “Oxytane 5: Biosecurity Matters” empowered local hog raisers with science-based and practical strategies to strengthen farm hygiene, protect herds, and enhance productivity.
Dr. Niel L. Ningal, Livestock Project Support Specialist of FAO of the United Nations and Technical Consultant of MVH Marketing, served as the resource speaker, sharing the real-world applications of Oxytane 5 in reducing pathogen load, improving waterline sanitation, and establishing routine disinfection programs. His insights resonated deeply with farmers, emphasizing how small, consistent steps can create safer and more sustainable farming systems.
The session concluded with a renewed commitment among hog raisers to elevate their biosecurity practices — ensuring safer pork, healthier animals, and stronger communities across Negros Occidental.
