Emergency Cesarean Section

Nicki was rushed to the clinic due to difficulty giving birth. During physical exam, a malpositioned puppy was found stuck in the birth canal. No contractions were noted, this indicates uterine inertia. Lochial discharges oozed. Ultrasound exam revealed other alive puppies. STAT C section was then performed.

There were seven in her litter. Five are healthy puppies and the other two did not make it.
