Barkers Park Boarding Kennels Barkers Park is located north of Christchurch near Kaiapoi Lakes, just off State Highway 1.

It is run by Justin & Petra Sims alongside their two children JJ & Francheska and their much loved ridgebacks, Spike, Nala, Hugo and Layla. Our family and our very knowledgeable, competent and caring staff members pride ourselves on giving a high standard of love and attention to your beloved family member whilst you are away. We all have a huge passion for animals and will care for your pet as we

do our own. We understand that all dogs are different with some requiring special care and attention so we will ensure your pet receives whatever it needs. Between us we bring knowledge, experience and an understanding of being a pet owner.

On the flip side, I must report the sad news behind the loss of our lovely manager Lisa who had an injury prior to Christmas and a very slow recovery that has lead to her departure. We wish you all the best Lisa and a steady return back to full health.

We now have three new lovely ladies - Nikita, Chelsey and Sarah to help us look after your fur babies when you need to head away. Welcome on board, team!

Please let me introduce our latest newbies to Barkers Park. First of all, our new team member Zynaida (aka Zee). Zee is a mum of a wee gorgeous toddler Raine returning back to work part time. Her passion for dogs shines through and our boarders love having her around.

On the fury friends front, we welcome a Whippet duo Agness & Pepe, the sweetest young siblings who never stop playing, two Jack Russell Terriers Roxy & Archie, an older girl Aggie, a wired hair Jack Russell, Bruno the Rhodesian Ridgeback X and a new friend to Syd who has been before but now has a sister (or a girlfriend 😜) Lulu the Staforshire Bulterier pup.

Hi all, we hope you are enjoying what is the last weekend of the ‘summer’ break for many. Shame it hasn’t been very summery!
We have a couple of newbies to introduce today.
Mouse is an absolutely stunning Catahoula Leopard Dog. Very sweet natured and social boy 🥰
Luna (Toy Poodle x) and Lexi (Schnauzer x) are fur-siblings. Very quiet wee girls, who made friends with all the other wee dogs boarding with us at the moment.
All three of these pups will be coming back to stay with us real soon!
