Help keep our avian patients safe.

As there have now been confirmed cases of avian influenza (H5N1/bird flu) in New Zealand, we are taking sensible precautions to help protect our patients, clients, and staff. While the overall risk remains low, these measures will help us continue to provide safe, high-quality care.

We will continue to see sick owned birds, including pet birds and backyard chickens.

To help protect these patients, we ask that if you find a sick or injured wild bird, please call us before bringing it to the clinic. Keep the bird outside and wait for veterinary advice before bringing it in. This allows us to assess the situation and ensure appropriate measures are in place.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to keep both our patients and our community safe.
