โผ๏ธ FOSTER HOME NEEDED โผ๏ธ
A long-term foster home is needed for Maverick ๐
A dedicated Foster with a kind heart is much needed ๐ You will need a spare room (or no other pets) as he doesn't care for other cats. He is likely FIV and is at the vet today and tomorrow for desex etc, and to look over his ailments.
A patient and understanding foster is needed, preferably living in the WGTN area. He will also require visits to Valley Cottage Vets in Stokes Valley. ๐น Thanks all.

Welcome lucky #62, Mr Bertie :)
Bertie was found by a kind lady Debbie from Greytown. A stray in search for food he showed up at the right place seeking help.
Other than fluid on his lungs / cat flu - which a quick vet trip on Monday will help clear up - he's silky soft and very sweet as Debbie had already dedicated 2 weeks of socializing, which has worked a treat!
He's settling in well, and will have friends his age to play with in no time!

โ ๏ธ CAT INQUIRY - CLOUSTON PARK โ ๏ธ
UPDATE: I have received many inquiries which has gratefully helped. I am well on my way to making a map of where the abuse is happening - but further info is always needed :) Thanks all!
I am becoming concerned about the increasing number of injured, abused and missing cats of Clouston Park - unfortunately there is an animal abuser amongst us.
I'd like to gather as much information as possible - if you or someone you know lives in the area and has had their cat go missing, return home shaved or abused / injured please message me either here on my page, or email [email protected].
Thank you all, please take care. ๐พ And for those who own cats in the area and are worried for their safety please consider keeping them indoors only, or I highly recommend Tractive GPS as a tracking option.

โจ ๐โโฌ MR T ๐โโฌ โจ
Mr T. is a very smart but loving little boy. Heโs a bit like a cat from a Disney cartoon with really exaggerated movements and a very characterful face. He is always wanting pats and cuddles, and he adjusts himself perfectly to every contour of your lap. Itโs sometimes hard to tell whether heโs flopped or melted. ๐คญ
Heโs also very clever and makes up games for himself to pass the time. His favourite toy is a little yellow plastic spring, which he carries around in his mouth, flicks around with his paw and sometimes wears as a bracelet.
He has a very sweet, soft nature and often pats your cheek with his smooth little paws - no claws with this boy. He loves playing with other cats and is very close to his sister Dot. His favourite, however, is our old neutered tom cat Hunter. Itโs a bit like Batman and Robin with those two. Itโll be a real struggle to let him go, but we know heโll find the right person whoโll give him all the pats and hidey boxes he wants. Heโll be good with other cats and probably with kids if theyโre not too young and grabby with him.
Mr T might be a little reserved at first, especially around new faces. But don't let that fool you! Give him a little time and patience, and you'll be amazed at how quickly these little fluffballs blossom into playful, purring companions. Get ready for an explosion of cuddles and kitten antics once they decide you're part of their inner circle!

๐ฉท MISS DOT ๐
Meet Dot, your elegant, super-soft, uninvited dinner guest. ๐ Sheโs full of character and very much a typical Tortie. Sheโs independent, a bit particular and likes things to be on her terms.
When the mood suits her, she loves to play and gallop around the house. Do not leave the kitchen bench unattended for the blink of an eye - sheโll be up there and trying to drag the frozen chicken away. ๐
Dot is particularly fond of cuddles in bed, where you get to appreciate just how soft and beautifully marked her coat is.
Sheโs also quite affectionate, especially with her brother Mr. T. and her mum, Belladonna. She gets along well with other cats but sets boundaries when she needs to. Miss Dot could be adopted solo, or with her brother and / or Mum. A more relaxed home with no children or dogs would be best suited.

From a life of relentless struggle on the streets โ dodging dangers, birthing endless litters and fending just to survive โ this gorgeous kitty, Miss Vee, has hit the jackpot. ๐
Now, she's living the purr-fect life: warm cuddles, a full food bowl, endless comfort, and the blissful security of knowing she's safe and loved. Just look at that face! Serene, content, and utterly at peace.
This is why I do what I do. Witnessing transformations like this makes all the hardship worthwhile, reminding me that every rescue makes a world of difference.
Upper Hutt City Council, we need to talk - again! ๐
Our neighboring cities have already taken the lead in animal welfare by approving bylaws for cat desexing and microchipping. Isn't it time Upper Hutt joined them?
Let's show our community and the wider region that we care about our feline friends. When will we finally take this crucial step? Let's make it happen!
๐ฃ Attention cat owners in Porirua City: the new Keeping of Animals Bylaw is officially in effect! ๐ฃ This Bylaw requires cats to be desexed and microchipped.
As of 1 July 2025, companion cats over four months of age must be desexed (with exemptions in place for registered breeding animals or for the health and welfare of the cat), microchipped, and their microchipped registered on the New Zealand Companion Animal Register.
Ensuring our companion cats are desexed is good for cat welfare and helps address the problems of too many unplanned litters of kittens needing help each year, or ending up as strays. We also know microchips that are registered with up-to-date owner information help us get cats back home to their families when they are scanned ๐ฉต
Letโs work together to ensure our feline friends are safe, healthy, and easily identifiable. Thank you for doing your part!

KittyCat Rehoming Wairarapa started in January 2017. The SPCA in the Wairarapa closed in 2015 and left a big gap in animal welfare in the area. Originally the group came into existence to rehome stray and abandoned cats, rehome cats for owners in difficult circumstances and tame feral kittens. KRW rehomed 33 cats and kittens in 2017 and 35 in 2018. Now that the SPCA in Masterton is open again and are looking after stray, abandoned and surrendered cats, KRW is concentrating on taming feral kittens and finding homes for them.
By taking in feral kittens and desexing the parents, KRW helps control the feral cat population and keep cats away from our wildlife. This decreases the feral cat population in a humane manner and not only improves the welfare of the cats, but of the environment as a whole.
Feral kittens are fostered by a network of foster carers until they can be adopted. Whether a kitten can be tamed is dependent on their age and temperament. The optimum age to tame a feral kitten is 8 weeks and under. Older kittens can be successfully tamed depending on their individual temperament but once they reach 16 weeks of age it becomes very difficult. It can take months of care before a kitten is ready to adopt.
Our adoption fee for kittens is $140. This helps cover the costs of desexing, vaccinating and treating for parasites. We also offer reduced rates to adopters for microchipping.
KittyCat Rehoming Wairarapa is registered Charitable Trust CC54963.
