🐈 From Puppies & Kittens to Golden Oldies: The Life Stages of Cats & Dogs 🐶

🐾 Ever wonder what life looks like from your pet’s point of view? Just like humans, cats and dogs go through distinct life stages—each with unique needs, behaviors, and care tips. Here’s a quick guide to help you understand and support your furry friend through every step of their journey! 🐾

1. Baby Stage (0-6 months)
AKA: Puppy & Kitten phase!
High energy, lots of learning
Teething, socialization, and basic training are key
Proper nutrition and first vet visits set the foundation for health

2. Junior Stage (6 months – 2 years)
Think of this as the “teenage” phase
Behavior testing and boundary-pushing
Continued training and exercise are crucial
Spaying/neutering typically occurs here

3. Adult Stage (2 – 7 years)
Welcome to the prime of life
Stable personality and behavior
Consistent routines, regular vet checkups
Balanced diet and daily play keep them thriving

4. Senior Stage (7+ years)
Slowing down, but still full of love
More naps, less zoomies
Watch for joint pain, dental issues, and other age-related changes
Gentle exercise and senior-friendly diets help keep them comfy

✨ Pro Tip: Life stage can vary by breed—larger dogs age faster than smaller ones, and cats tend to mature more slowly than dogs.

🧡 No matter their age, our pets deserve love, care, and understanding. Take the time to notice changes in their behavior and needs—it’s all part of being a great pet parent! 💚
