This week the spotlight is on Sass, who has a very sweet face with a surprisingly big bark!

My official name is Sass but I also answer to Sass mate and sassafras.

I am a 3.5 year old Labrador / Huntaway X and I am from a Southland farm.

I was originally destined to be a farm dog, but this life wasn't for me and I got adopted out where my wonderful new parents found me and moved me to Wanaka which I love! I was scared of lots of things when I first moved and didn't even know my own name, but now I'm an all new dog with an all new life and I've never looked back! (Except for vacuum cleaners, but who isn't afraid of them!)

Some of my favourite things are teddies, bones and SNOW! Sometimes I go to work up Cardrona where I get patted alllll day and get to hang out with the other snow dogs. I also love van life and going on weekend surfing missions with my dad, sign me up for any adventure!

I joined the Dog Squad this year and for a dog who was terrified of all other dogs in my former life I've slotted in perfectly and absolutely love playing and chasing the crew, and showing them my amazing bark of course!

This week was a record breaker with our Wednesday crew heading out on our coldest walk in Dog Squad history! -6 degrees!...

You'll find this wagger of the week immersed in any body of water, any time of day, in any temperature! Meet Murphy!

My official name is Murphy but I also answer to Murph, Dolphin Dog, Murph-a-chino (because I am a frother!) My grandad picked the name Murphy because of his Irish roots in Galway.

I am a 9 year old Border Collie and I was born in Wellington. I started out at a different home with a different name (biggie paws!) but found my forever home with Rebecca and now live in the water paradise of Lake Hawea!

Some of my favourite things are bike rides, swimming, slices of ham, swimming, chasing bugs on the lawn, swimming, riding in the tray of utes, chunky dog roll and SWIMMING!

I actually love ham so much that I was originally trained as a deer hunting dog, but had to retire as the nearby piggies led me too astray. Speaking of deer, I am also terrified of a pet deer named Britney Deers, so it's fair to say that wasn't the profession for me!
Some of my other fears include nail clippers, blenders, vacuums, and a beeping fridge door. Close the dooooooooooor!

This winter will be my 9th season of being a professional ski bum. One time in Ohakune I was chilling on the front lawn keeping an eye on all proceedings and as the house had no fence an animal control officer thought I was an escapee and picked me up and took me for a ride in the back of his truck! Woohoo! He decided to return me after having called my human and realising he actually dognapped me from my own home, but I was enjoying the truck ride so much I didn't want it to end and refused to get off when I was called. This meant the officer had to be assured that this was in fact my owner and my house, but I was no doubt lured with a piece of ham, and I resumed my position as neighbourhood surveillance. What a great day!

I joined the Dog Squad this year and have been loving having other my new Hawea mates Finny, Fergy, Billy and Roo to chase after and swim with! Tuesdays are now one of my favourite days of the week!

Let's get to know Koda - she's got laser focus, a great work ethic and is a fearless companion!

My official name is Koda but I also answer to Lil Nugget, Woggus, Doggus and The Fox. I was named after the Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea.

I am a 6 year old Border Collie Kelpie Cross and I was born on New Years Eve in Whangarei, so my birthday is always a party!

I love sticks, like reallllllllly love sticks! I also love my aunties Danya and Kate, and chasing mountain bikes on all kinds of trails! My parents have to spell out B-A-L-L, as when I hear that word there is no going back for them. Ball is life!

My other skills include riding on Skidoos, gondolas and sniffing out any predators on the trail to protect my humans, I will warn you of the presence of any big scary animals like Hedgehogs! They are no match for my nose!

As you can tell I love being outdoors and when I was working on a farm I was moving some cows and in my excitement slipped on the feed pad and got covered head to tail in Cow Poo - oops! I didn't mind though but I'm sure my mum wasn't overly impressed! Someone's got to put in the hard yards!

I joined the Dog Squad this year and haven't looked back since! I love racing the other dogs for sticks, especially Olive, and the off trail adventures we go on are highlights of my week for sure!

Today we wish a giant HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our favourite stick loving cheeseballs, brothers Arlo and Waffle!

Our wagger of the week is Reggie - he's an old soul in a young body, and is uniquely.. well Reg!

My official name is Reginald but I also answer to Reg, Reggie, Reginator and Regisaurus. I was called Reginald as I looked like an old man from birth.

I am a 4 year old big b***d (not fat) border terrier, and I was born on a farm in Wyndham. I came from high energy stock, but I chose early retirement when I was just hours old. I occasionally work as a Heavy engineer fabricator however the sleep to work ratio is about 90/10. Even though I weigh under 12kgs, I magically triple my bodyweight when in bed, where I become an immovable, hairy anchor.

I excel at Halloween as I can pull off so many disguises with ease. Some favourites but not limited to are impersonating a cashew nut, the emoji, and I can also morph into a Hearsh brush, my coat is rugged and you can use my tail as a handle. I like keeping in shape, that shape is Oblong.

I love delivering a single sock to visitors, and stalking my housemate Prince Harry, even though I have an irrational fear of cats. The entire Cardrona river is my backyard, and love to take mid walk naps, usually in a puddle. I pace every walk like it is a marathon. My least favourite people are builders as they demolished my house and I have never (and may never) forgive them.,

My other skills include pooping on the move, my parents say picking up after me is like Hansel and Gretel following a bread trail.

I joined the Dog Squad last year with my cousin Tank, and although my expression never changes I am super happy to be out running with my new mates! My legs might be short but I can keep up with the best of them! (When I'm not taking a nap)
