Ponies are in the park doing gardening duties 🌼 they will be in nightly for the rest of the week.

They leave organic p**p which I will spread on Friday. You are welcome to take some for your garden 🪴

Your dogs will enjoy the extra feature of horse p**p to eat and roll in - so bring a towel for your ride home 😬

The big dog park lie.
Fair warning. I’m biased.
I don’t like dog parks but I am going to grit my teeth here.
So when is it actually ok?

The “Don’t do it”.

When you want your dog to be “social” with others and presume it means just taking off that lead and letting them go for it.

When you have a larger dog that isn’t really ready for a dog park, so you take them to a small dog-only park and they have a fantastic time chasing all the smaller, much louder “fun” dogs.

When all you want to do is get the excess energy out that your dog has by being chased or chasing other dogs that they don’t know, and that is the only way you know how.

When there is any question over how your dog behaves around others. It is NOT a testing ground for them.

And the biggie?
If you cannot read your dog’s body language well enough, or well enough in other dogs, to recognise serious issues.

The “When it’s ok”.

Meeting your dog’s friends who they know well (and you do too), where it truly is a more social event.

When you still have good verbal control over your dog, even when they are showing high excitement and arousal.

You know your dog’s thresholds and recognise them easily, as well as their (and others) body language.

What happens in that park WILL affect your dog.
