Morning Doggy family. I have some important news that is going to affect most of you.

Things have been a bit full on for this last few months and I've been struggling a bit to look after myself.

Family life and farm are our priority and as the kids get older they get busier with their sports and hobbies. At the moment I'm putting 100% of me into the farm with over 300 calves to feed, I'm putting 100% into the girls and I'm trying to put as much as I can into The Doggy Saon and as it seems there's not much left for me.

I've hit a point where I'm not happy and I'm exhausted and I need to change this now so that I can carry on putting 100% into family and farm. Its my own fault becasue I like to be able to do anything and everything. I like to push myself to do as much as I can and when I can't it feels like im failing. Im actually pretty upset while writing this. I don’t like that feeling of failure so I need to make big changes.

I am really sorry and it breaks my heart to have to do this but I won't be able to groom most of your dogs anymore. I'm so sorry for the short notice. I'm going to carry on grooming elderly dogs, dogs with anxiety issues and also some elderly clients. The reason for this is I dont want to cause anymore stress for these clients and dogs.

I will make sure I contact everyone over the next 2 weeks to make sure everyone has seen this message. I also want to thank you all for supporting me over the years its been a pleasure and you've all made my job enjoyable.

Please message me if there are any questions you need answered and I'll do my best to answer them ASAP.

Hey guys just thought I'd give you all an update on how things are going here.

As most of you know this time of year is calving time and aswell as dog grooming we are also calf rearers. This time of year is extremely busy for us with lots of babies coming in and they are needing multiple feeds every day. We also have our sheep lambing.

On top of that we are super busy with both our girls and their sports. Gymnastics four times a week in Hamilton after school and Saturday hockey also in Hamilton.

Things are really full on at the moment for me trying to Mum and keep up with the house keeping, full time work and late nights in Hamilton. I have great support and help from Wayne who is also working really hard on farm and his second job Fert truck driving off farm.

What I need to do is re shuffle alot off appointments so that I have mostly only one dog a day. I have Fridays that are free and I can also use the school holidays which should get me through this busy time and also after the bulk of the calf feeding I'll start my AB run.

The last 2 weeks have been really crazy and Im feeling really burnt out so I need to make this change so that I can get through the rest of this year without completely giving up on something I've worked so hard on which is The Doggy Salon. I do love the time that I have with all of your pups and dont want to give up on them.

So I guess what I need is a little patience and if you think you're dog won't be needing its next groom can you please give me a heads up early. Its alot easier for me to shuffle dogs around cancelled appointments if I know early.

I've definitely bitten off more than I can chew this year and totally understand if this is too much to deal with and want to try someone new. I know life is busy for everyone but we just have to do what we need to to get through. Don't feel bad if you need to miss a groom it works in my favour this time of year. 😊

Unfortunately with increased costs of grooming products and supplies, maintenance cost, power and general day to day running costs there will be a small increase of $5 to all grooming services.

I would like to thank you all for your dedicated support and loyalty to my small business especially this time of year with lots going on on the farm. Thanks to all the Mums and parents with young kids who have swapped appointments and re scheduled so that I can be at my kids sport.

I appreciate you all and thanks so much.
