TAUPO DOG TRAINING CLUB is an associated All Breeds Society of the New Zealand Kennel Club, and approved to conduct Championship Shows in Obedience and Agility. You don’t have to be competitive, just to have a love of dogs and be prepared to put in the time for practice. The Objects Of The Club Are:
To help local owners train their dogs in basic obedience. To promote the

sport of dog training by conducting classes at different levels within the different codes, i.e. Any dog? YES. – All breeds are welcome from 5 months of age. (Puppy classes are held for puppies aged 12 weeks to 5 months subject to availability of instructors.) Handlers who graduate from Basics are then eligible to further their training in Competition Obedience, Canine Good Citizen, Rally-O and Working Trials, and once dogs reach 12 months of age can begin Foundation Agility. What Will The Dog Be Taught? Acceptable behavior with other dogs and people. To walk at heel on lead. To come when called. To stay in a sit or down position on command. Who Trains The Dog? You do, within class and at least five times a week between classes. You need only to train for a few minutes each time but it must be regular. If you are not prepared to do this then you won’t get the results.

Congratulations to our club members for passing their Foundation Canine Good Citizen - Lynne Henry and Lily, Nicola Smith and Neo, Christine Henry and Beau, Pam Nelson and Xena, Kim Jones and Pearl, Peter Cross and Jess.
Although the weather may not have been kind we had some big smiles by the end of the day.
A BIG thank you to all the helpers for the day - without you we couldn't have had the day?!!

Woof, woof, welcome all!
Graduation for Term 2 - 11am to 1pm Sunday 13 July.

We warmly invite all Term 2 attendees of our Puppy, Basic, CGC, Scent work, Agility and Competition Obedience classes to join us. Term 3 class demo's, Graduation and this time there will be a sausage sizzle, yum 😋.
You can mingle with each other and talk to the instructors around your Term 3 goals.
Are you considering joining us in September for Term 3? Particularly in Puppy and Basic classes - please also feel free to come along and check us out, you are more than welcome.

Saturday sees our Foundation and Bronze people go through their paces with Sunday being for Silver and Gold.

A big shout out for Raewyn Beattie, one of our instructors who has not only donated a lot of her time to our club, but was recently awarded the Tremains Volunteer Service Awards Volunteer of the Year. Raewyn featured on the front page of the Taupo & Turangi News last week as acknowledgement for all her voluntary work around Kuratau.
