The New Zealand Companion Animal Register (NZCAR) is a national database of microchipped companion animals (pets).
The register was created to help return lost pets to their owners by providing a database that can be accessed by approved organisations such as vet clinics and SPCA’s.

Did you know that the New Zealand Companion Animal Register is the only national microchip register for cat?
There is no local registration like we have for dogs
The vet, SPCA or shelter who implanted the chip will have a record, but if you move house and they get lost and found by someone else and then brought into us to see if they are chipped, the only real way of locating their family is through the New Zealand Companion Animal Register
