When the work pays off 🙏
This weekend Kristin and I traveled to the National Dog Training Assembly for DogsNZ held in Auckland.
It was a great weekend and I really enjoyed the comraderie and the coming together of so many of us all for the sake of dogs and good competition!
Persephone and I did well with what we wanted to achieve and came away with a 3rd place in beginners for the Saturday obedience trial and we managed to pull off a 1st place for beginners in the regional teams event as a part of the Central Region Team, which was our motivation for being there.
When I started in this sport I didnt even realize teams was a thing and I didnt realize how much more there was to this sport. Getting to represent Central Region was a real honor for me and something ill definitely be trialing to be a part of next year as well!
Im grateful to my Coach Sherrie as well. This wasnt just my victory, it was our victory and im lucky to have a coach who believes in and pushes me and Persephone to always be better!
So many great volunteers, stewards and judges give so much to make this sport happen and im so grateful for them. Im grateful to be a part of the Wairarapa Dog Training Club and the awesome environment we have there. Without my club id just be some guy with a dog!
Also want to make a special mention to my beautiful wife Kristin for always having my back and being there to keep me going 💙
I love this sport.
