It’s me. Nala.

I’ve been sitting by this window, on the floor, on my foster uncle for what feels like forever, waiting for you to waltz in and say, “Nala, pack your things – you’re coming home.”

Instead? Nothing. Just me, the doormat, the couch, the blanket, and my fading hopes and dreams.

So, let’s be clear:
⭐ I’m gorgeous. People stop and stare.
⭐ I’m loyal. I’ll love you more than you could even imagine.
⭐ I’m good to go. The hard work is done – surgery, rehab, two new knees - passed with flying colours.

Grab the tissues 😭

It's been a heart-breaking few weeks for us here at Rottie Rescue.

They say bad things happen in 3's and we've certainly had our 3! Make that 4 😭

We had to make the extremely tough decision to let our beautiful boy Toby cross to the Rainbow Bridge. On further investigation with x-rays on his rear legs and hips we discovered he had severe luxating patella's (not common in Rottweilers) with one being severe. On that same leg he had a partial tear in his ACL as well as tendonitis in his hips. This is before we looked into what was happening with his shoulders.
I HATE being judge, jury and executioner, it breaks my heart every time. We got no less than 4 separate opinions on this so it was not taken lightly. Money doesn't matter when it comes down to the quality of life for these poor dogs. They have been let down by humans, poor breeding and not understanding how to look after a dog properly especially in those first few years when everything is growing and developing. He had 2 lovely beach outings with McDonalds with his former foster family and he and I had a trip to the park and McD's too. He was surrounded by all of us that loved him and his ashes will go to the foster family. Thanks to the team at K9 Heaven 'The Country Club For Dogs' Auckland, NZ for looking after our boy near the end.

We then had 2--nope 3 of our girls who had been adopted into their loving homes pass away due to illness/and or age. It still hurts but at least we know they had a loving family right to then end. Abby was a Staffy x Lab who had a broken leg and when no other rescue would help we took her in.

FOUND – 2x DOGS – (HENDERSON) AUCKLAND

5.8.25 unknown outcome, although its possible they were pts :'( Moving to unresolved album

Two very friendly black and brown pups have been found in Pine Avenue, Henderson on the morning of Monday 21.07.25. Possibly 6 months old and are safe with the finder. Evidence of ownership is required. Do you recognise them or know where they live?

A HUGE thank you to Andrew & the team at for the delivery of much needed food for our gorgeous Rottweilers.

It takes a village and every single donation helps us to help those that can't help themselves. Zealandia have donated to a number of rescues and we are honoured to be one of them.

At RRRNZ we always like to share our windfalls so we have donated part of our haul to our friends at Auckland Puppy Rescue.
