We want to urge all our clients to check the vaccination status of your dogs ASAP!

There is currently a nationwide parvovirus outbreak, with cases confirmed as close as Ashburton.

Parvovirus is a severe and potentially life threatening illness, causing lethargy, severe vomiting, and bloody diarrhoea.

Parvovirus is highly contagious and can spread through the faeces of infected dogs, contaminating surfaces such as bedding, cages, the ground, and even people’s clothing and footwear.

‼️ Key Points to Know:
* Parvo can survive in the environment for up to a year, meaning unvaccinated dogs are constantly at risk.
* Once a dog contracts parvo, it's too late to vaccinate to prevent the disease.
* If your dog is not fully vaccinated, they are at high risk, especially if they are exposed to environments where parvo has been present.

💉 Vaccination is the ONLY effective protection for your dog. Puppies need a series of vaccinations, while adult dogs need regular boosters to stay protected.

Please don’t wait – if you’re unsure about your dog’s vaccination status or need to book a booster, get in touch with us today. A simple check could save your dog’s life.

SNIP ‘N’ CHIP COMES TO THE SOUTH ISLAND! 🙌🐱

We are excited to be launching a new Snip ‘n’ Chip campaign for cat owners in Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin, Gore, Balclutha, Alexandra, Wanaka and surrounding areas.

From 26 March 2025 we are working with local participating veterinary clinics to offer this service to cat owners who are struggling with the cost of desexing and microchipping. Vouchers help those in need get their cat desexed and microchipped for $30.

Bookings are now OPEN! 👉 Click the link in the comment section to check if vouchers are available in your area and register for your Snip ‘n’ Chip voucher.

If you know someone who needs help with the online system, you can help by completing the registration with them. Thank you so much to our participating vet clinics for helping us to make this important campaign possible.

PLEASE REMEMBER - a limited number of vouchers are available to help those who require financial assistance. Please, only get a voucher if you need one and intend to use it. In the past, we have noticed some vouchers were never used, or bookings were made with vet clinics and never attended 💔 When this happens, it prevents someone else from using the voucher who might really need it.

If you live in Invercargill and Snip 'n' Chip vouchers are not available in your area, please contact our Invercargill Centre for local advice or assistance.

For more information, check out our website!

Do you know about the New Zealand Companion Animal register?

It's a national database where your pet’s microchip information is stored to help reunite lost and found pets with their families. 🐶🐱

It’s never too late - You can register your pets microchip at any time!

Keeping your contact details up to date on the register is CRUCIAL. A microchip is only effective if the information linked to it is accurate. By ensuring that your pet's microchip is registered with your current contact details, you can avoid significant stress and heartache in the event they go missing.

You can easily update your contact details on their website https://www.animalregister.co.nz

Otherwise give us a call at the clinic. We’re more than happy to help ensure your pet’s details are current and accurate.

Let's keep our furry friends safe and sound 🥰
