Waimate District Hunt put on a splendid Children's hunt during the school holidays,

I'd highly recommend getting yourself out to have a good look and see what hunting is all about.

Dean had a fantastic day, so much fun and he has such beautiful form over the fences, 👌

Just love how Dean is so diverse and eager to please, he's as close as it comes to being the perfect all rounder. 😍

Mackenzie A&P Show 2024

Our final show of the season.

We hadn't been to Mackenzie since pre-covid so it was great to be back!!

All thought the ribbons don't quite reflect how great Dean went, he certainly finished his final show style casing how far he has come in a single season, his manners were on point and near perfect 👌

Hunter jumping Dean was awesome!!
He had placings throughout each class and was the greenest Pony in the line up, the others were super seasoned SJrs that had just come back from HOY, so I was super pleased how he finished in his Open Hunter rounds,

For a Pony with the odd jump here and there at the beginning of the show season who had never completed a round, he's just taken it like a duck to water,

Unfortunately no Jumping photos and just a few on the flat.

Always great full to Witches Brew Hoof Oil
Their Hoof Oil keeps Dean running like a smooth machine and Barefoot all season! It's incredible stuff, we never leave home without it.

Wanaka A&P Show 2024

What a blast!

I had never been to Wanaka before but I was very lucky to be taken down by some friends to compete in the RTR, Working Hunters and Saddle Hunter classes.

The Hunter jumps were Big, the biggest Dean had seen and I got super nervous!

They say, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"

In hind sight I should have entered the novice RTR but why not just throw yourself into the Opens 🫣
You live and learn and we made it around the open Working Hunter but not quite good enough to place,
Round the ring took out many seasoned ponies in front of me, they had trouble with the first few fences which didn't help my nerves, Dean and I made it up and over the big wine barrel jump but he just sat down at the Lammermoor Distillery wall 🫣
Mum said "Why did you have to destroy that wall!! They make the best Gin around!"

She then told me to pick myself up, dust myself off and get my head back in the game for the next day as this was my moment to shine!

So following her wise words, Dean and I came back out the following day, all focus was on show casing Dean yo the best of my ability and we Won!!

Champion Saddle Hunter pony at WANAKA SHOW!! 💪

And what a line up of ponies! I was blown away!

So Proud of myself and Dean, and so thankful to have had the opportunity to ride here for the first time ever and ride away with the championship!

How cool is this video that SNAP HAPPY made of Dean and I competing at the North Otago A&P competition a few weeks back,
Dean is turning out to be such an incredible pony, we still have up and down moments, but for the most parts he's pretty cool for a rising 6yo, He's certainly come along way this show season, 😍 and he started to jump less than a year ago,
