You guys have filled every single August spot! 🥹❤️ But don’t worry if you missed out, my next Puppy Preschool starts September 1st and I still have a couple of spaces available!

If you’ve recently welcomed a new puppy into the family, this is the perfect way to give both you AND your puppy the best possible start together. 🐶

Over our fun and educational 5 weeks, we cover so much more than just “sit” and “stay”. We work on building confident puppies, good manners, handling, recall, lead skills, settling, socialisation and those all-important everyday life skills, while also helping you understand why your puppy does the things they do!

With over 10 years of experience running Puppy Preschools, my goal is for you to finish the course feeling confident, equipped and excited about raising your puppy, with plenty of practical knowledge and skills to take home and continue using as they grow. ❤️

And yes… we have plenty of fun along the way too! 🐾😂

📅 Next class starts September 1st 🐶 Only a couple of spaces left!

Send me a message to grab a spot before this one fills up too! 💌

I’ve been keeping a little secret… 🤭❤️

Although, I have a feeling a few of you may have already figured it out while we bonded over the early morning nausea waves as I trimmed your pets’ nails in your lounge rooms 🤣
The Visiting Vet Nurse is getting a wee apprentice! 👶🏼🐾

We’re absolutely over the moon to be welcoming our little one in February. ❤️

One of the things I’m feeling especially grateful for is the incredible community I’ve built through TVVN. I feel so lucky knowing I can continue doing what I love, working with such a wonderful bunch of animals (and their equally wonderful humans!) right through until around mid-January, before taking some time away to find my feet in this whole motherhood thing.

But don’t worry!, TVVN won’t be disappearing completely! 🐾❤️

Appointments at TVVN Headquarters will be available again pretty soon after bubs arrives. I know nails keep growing, ears still need cleaning, a**l glands certainly don’t care that I’ve just had a baby 🤣, and all those little things can quickly get on top of us if we leave them too long.

Your pets health and wellbeing is still a huge priority to me, and I want to make sure you still have somewhere to turn when you need a little helping hand. Mobile appointments may take me a little longer to return to, but appointments from HQ will hopefully allow me to keep looking after your furry family while also finding my feet with our newest little family member. ❤️

And there’s another exciting little chapter ahead for TVVN too! Once I’m back up and about, I’ll have an awesome vet nursing student joining me, and I genuinely can’t wait to share my knowledge, experience and passion with her. ❤️

So 2027 is shaping up to look a little different around here… but in the very best way.

Thank you to every single one of you who has supported my little business and allowed it to grow into something that gives me the flexibility to step into this next chapter of our lives. It really does mean more than you know. 🥹❤️

🐾🌟 AUGUST BREED OF THE MONTH 🌟🐾

🐶 Labrador Retriever 🐶

It's only fitting that this month's spotlight goes to one of New Zealand's most loved family dogs, the Labrador Retriever! ❤️

✨ Fun Facts:
🐾 Originally bred to help fishermen retrieve nets and fish from icy waters.
🐾 Labs have a water-resistant double coat and webbed feet, making them fantastic swimmers.
🐾 They consistently rank as one of the world's most popular dog breeds.

❤️ Temperament:
Labradors are known for being friendly, loyal, affectionate, and eager to please. They thrive on being part of the family and generally get along wonderfully with children, other dogs, and even cats when introduced correctly.

🏃 Exercise Needs:
These active dogs need plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation. Walks, swimming, retrieving games, scent work, and training sessions all help keep a Lab happy and healthy.

🧠 Did You Know?
Labradors are highly intelligent and are commonly used as guide dogs, assistance dogs, detection dogs, search and rescue dogs, and therapy dogs because of their trainability and gentle nature.

⚠️ Things to Watch For:
Like many larger breeds, Labradors can be prone to hip and elbow dysplasia, obesity, ear infections, and arthritis as they age. Keeping them at a healthy weight and providing regular veterinary care can make a huge difference to their long-term health.

🐾 Tell us about your Lab! Drop a photo in the comments and tell us their name, age, and one thing that makes them completely unique. We can't wait to meet this month's stars! 💛
