Stable News 🗞️

I have two Hong Kong gallopers returning this month to New Zealand to have another chance at racing, after light careers in Hong Kong.

The first horse is a 5yo Gelding and has won 5 races over 1200 in Australia and Hong Kong. He looks like he will be ideally suited here in NZ over the sprint trips.

The second horse, also a 5yo Gelding, he has been right in behind them in most starts and will be much better suited to NZ style of racing and looks to be a horse that will run between 1400 and 1600m.

Both horses are very well bred and arrive here in the next month to 6 weeks, they will resume work once they have acclimatised to NZ conditions and settled in well.

We have one runner today at Awapuni Synthetic.

Race 6 Linkin Park (Toni Davies)

Trialled very well and just didn’t cope with the puggy track at Rotorua first up over the 1230m, steps right up in distance today to 1700m which should suit. He’s had one previous run on the poly at his first ever start with previous trainer over shorter trip but was disappointing. Will need to step up today.

Friday mornings with Lady Blanche 🫶🏼

First time jumping over the baby logs and she thoroughly enjoyed it, we will step up to the baby hurdles next week.

She’ll head to the races next weekend at Te Aroha.

Lady Blanche this morning on the treadmill, she heads to the trials tomorrow at Avondale.

She’ll have a nice hit out for fitness then she’ll head to the races all going well in the next 10 days.

Linkin Park had a visit from Rowena’s Equine Pulse Therapy after his trial, he’s a very sensitive horse and we tried kinesiology tape.
How kinesiology tape works is ;

Te Rapa Trials Tuesday 5th August

Heat 18 - Linkin Park 🥇 (Sam Collett)

Nice return to the track from Linkin Park this afternoon winning his trial comfortably under Sam Collett. He pinged the barriers and found the front very easily and cruised around the 900m to win by about 3 lengths.

We’ll now map out a plan for him heading forward, but very happy with how he’s come up.

Lady Blanche and Linkin Park working reverse around the track this morning.

Lady Blanche had a quiet week at home but will head towards a race in the next few weeks and Linkin Park will head to the trials next week all going well.

Linkin Park on the treadmill this morning following his gallop yesterday.

Treated with a nice shampoo and of course the heaters turned on for him.
